KHARKIV, Nov. 4 ??“ Russia's Transmashholding Group is to set up a diesel engine production plant in Kharkiv region, Kharkiv governor Arsen Avakov has said in a radio interview.

Avakov said Transmashholding earlier had talks with the Kharkiv-based tank producer Malyshev on creating a joint venture to produce diesel engines for diesel locomotives. He said that "for some reasons" the idea was not supported, but the Russians still want to have a plant in this region.
