KIEV, June 25 – Kherson shipyard, part of Smart Maritime Group, has finished building a tanker of Project RST-27, which is the third vessel of the series of tankers being built under an order from the SVL Group (Malta), the shipyard has reported.

The shipyard said that the SVL Uniti tanker was launched on June 21.

Testing of the tanker will start at the end of June, and the vessel will be transferred to the customer by the end of the year, the shipyard said.

The contract to build three river-sea tankers worth $50 million was signed by Kherson shipyard and SVL in 2011. The SVL Liberty prototype vessel was transferred to the customer in March 2013 and the second SVL Loyalty tanker – in May 2013.
