IVANO-FRANKIVSK, June 19 – Ivano-Frankivsk regional council has posted a draft production sharing agreement for the Oleska shale gas field on its official website for discussion by the public, according to council head Vasyl Skrypnychuk.

The agreement is to be signed by Ukraine with Chevron Ukraine B.V. and Nadra Oleska LLC.

"I'll have to refute the prime minister's words, as what he has said is absolutely untrue. If you look at the regional council's website, from today there is a draft production sharing agreement between Ukraine and investors – these are Chevron and Kiev-based Nadra Oleska," Skrypnychuk said during a joint meeting between regional council deputies and the local government's public council on Tuesday, commenting on a statement by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in which he claimed some political forces were preventing an increase in local gas production.
