Plan to let customs service inspect fuel arouses ire of energy traders
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, June 17 – A plan backed by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov to let the customs service start checking the quality of imported gasoline and diesel fuel at the border is facing growing opposition from energy traders.

The plan was recently suggested by the Revenues and Taxes Ministry, but the traders allege it was designed to give unfair advantage to well-connected businesses and may lead to supply disruptions.
