KIEV, June 7 – The losses of coal mines managed by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry from coal production in January-May amounted to UAH 6.020 billion, up 37.7% up on the same period of 2012.

According to the ministry, over the first five months of this year state mines produced coal worth UAH 3.303 billion, which is 17.8% down on the same period in 2012.

In January-May 2013, the average price of coal produced by state-owned enterprises amounted to UAH 504.2 per ton. In comparison with January-May 2012, the average price of coal fell by 18.8%.
