KIEV, May 29 – The State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate and EnergoAtom met at Zaporizhia nuclear power plant to discuss extending the life of reactor one and reactor two of the plant.

First Deputy Head of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate Mykhailo Hashev, acting EnergoAtom President Vissarion Kim, Zaporizhia Director General Viacheslav Tyschenko, the chairman of the parliamentary sub-committee for nuclear policy and nuclear safety, Volodymyr Bandurov, representatives of Zaporizhia Regional Administration, and managers and specialists of the plant took part in the meeting.

The meeting participants also discussed the issues of financing measures to prolong the terms of operation of the reactors, and improve their operating safety under a comprehensive program, as well as other problematic issues. They also presented proposals to resolve these issues.
