KIEV, May 28 – Ukraine's state-owned EnergoAtom has lost UAH114 million due to flawed nuclear fuel assemblies made by Westinghouse, the State Finance Inspectorate of Ukraine reported on Monday.
In spring 2012, during scheduled repairs at Yuzhnoukrainsk nuclear power plant it was established that three Westinghouse fuel assemblies had been damaged mechanically and were unsuitable for the further exploitation. The reasons of the fuel assembly damage were flaws in their structure.
