KIEV, Oct. 31 - Ukraine's largest mobile communications operators, closed Kyivstar GSM and Ukrainian Mobile Communications (UMC), believe fees charged to subscribers for connections are necessary and should be retained.

The companies' spokesmen made a statement to that effect prior to a Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee meeting scheduled for Friday on the need for connection charges for calls from mobile phones.
