KIEV, May 14 – Sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine in April 2013 came to around 26,000, which is 33% up on April 2012 and 35% up on March 2013, the AUTO-Consulting information-analytical group said.
The group said that car dealers have not seen such indicators for a long time.
"The wave of sales activation caused by the introduction of special duties on imported cars with petrol engines of 1-2.2 liters [from April 13] has affected the whole market. All cars were in great demand, even those on which the special duty is not imposed. Ukrainian manufacturers also won out, as their sales soared by 25-50%," reads the report.
