Pokrov Mining failed to resume operation in 2024 on weak ferroalloy demand Journal Staff Report
Pokrov Mining and Processing Plant (formerly Ordzhonikidze Mining and Processing Plant, Dnipropetrovsk region) was unable to resume operations in 2024 due to a decline in demand for ferroalloys and an energy shortage. The plant may restart its beneficiation plant in April 2025. Pokrov Plant may resume manganese ore mining by summer 2025. "We are hopeful that by June, the plant's finished product stockpile will be depleted, meaning that the Chkalov Beneficiation Plant will need to restart in April to process the ore stored at our facilities," said Serhiy Shuvaev, the plant's CEO, during a meeting with department and production unit managers.
