Interpipe’s $1-bln electric steel-making complex operates at full capacity Journal Staff Report
Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe invested $1 billion in the construction of an electric steel-making complex (ESMC) 13 years ago and is currently selling value-added products to the EU within stricter environmental requirements. "European wheel manufacturers do not have their own steel production. We do not have this, because steel production is located on the same industrial site as wheel production, so emissions of harmful substances are reduced to a minimum, and for Europeans this is the most important criterion," Vladyslav Varnavsky, Director on Environment and Industrial Safety at Interpipe, explains in a commentary to Forbes Ukraine.
