Grain from Ukraine initiative helps to reduce food insecurity in Africa Journal Staff Report
Food delivered by Ukraine under the Grain from Ukraine initiative from November 2022 to August 2024 helped reduce the number of people facing moderate or severe food insecurity by 8% in Africa and the Middle East, according to a study by the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE). The program has already supported about 16.2 million people in Africa and the Middle East for periods of one to eight months. This is equivalent to providing food for about 2 million people for one year.
