KIEV, April 23 – The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry could not confirm that there were two Ukrainians on board a helicopter that were abducted by Taliban on Sunday following an emergency landing in eastern Afghanistan.

“According to the information we have as of now, the presence of Ukrainians has not been confirmed,” Yevhen Perebyinis, acting head of the information department at the ministry, told Interfax-Ukraine.

He said Ukrainian diplomats will continue to investigate reports.
