KIEV, April 12 - Photovoltaic (PV) modules with a total installed capacity of 500 megawatts (MW) could be placed on roofs of buildings and facilities in Kiev, according to Viacheslav Lisovyk, the head of Kiev City State Administration's energy efficiency department.
"We've assessed the potential of all the roofs of Kiev regardless of the ownership of the buildings and found out that their area allows us to install PV modules with a total capacity exceeding 500 MW," he said at a roundtable meeting in Kiev on the development of renewable energy.
