DONETSK, April 4 – It is better to carry out the privatization of Centrenergo, a power generating company, after the plan on the restoration of its largest thermal power plant – Vuhlehirska thermal power plant (TTP), which was stopped at the end of March 2013 after fire – is drawn up, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky said.

"It should operate if one wants to sell it. The [fire] that occurred was force majeure… When we understand the plan of restoration… we'll make the corresponding decisions," he told reporters in Donetsk, commenting on the prospects of the privatization of Centrenergo after a meeting held on Wednesday in Donetsk.

He said that the fire, which almost totally destroyed four out of six power units of the Vuhlehirska thermal power plant, had also destroyed the privatization plans for Centrenergo.
