KIEV, April 3 - Russia has officially inquired about Ukraine’s growing imports of natural gas from Europe, prompting an official reply from Kiev, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytskiy said Wednesday.

The exchange, which comes days after Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said the imports looked like “fraudulent” practices, underscores rising concerns at the Russian company as Ukraine has been switching to alternative energy sources.
