KIEV, March 27 – It is likely that Ukraine will have to adjust its plans for sowing spring crops due to unfavorable weather conditions in March, the director of the plant growing department at the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry, Oleksandr Demydov, said.
"In early April we'll revise the structure of the early spring sowing area," he told Interfax-Ukraine.
Demydov said that at present, sowing work is not being performed due to the bad weather. He noted that before the low temperatures arrived, southern regions actively sowed early grain crops: as of March 26, 2013, they were sown on around 660,000 hectares, the ministry said.
