KIEV, March 27 – Ukraine, defying mounting pressure from Moscow, indicated Wednesday it won’t quit the European Energy Community, making it now less certain the two countries will anytime soon agree on lower natural gas prices.

Leonid Kozhara, the foreign minister, said Ukraine’s involvement in the EEC strategically benefits both, Ukraine and Europe, and the country will continue to be part of the alliance.
