KIEV, March 22 - Ukraine and the United States are preparing to open this May a plant for the disposal of solid rocket fuel and empty engine casings of intercontinental ballistic missiles at the Pavlohrad Chemical Plant (Dnipropetrovsk region), which is one of the key facilities under the program for the disposal of solid rocket fuel of the SS-24 intercontinental ballistic missiles.
"According to the current information from the U.S. side, which, under agreement, supports the financing and construction of this plant, the opening of the facility is scheduled for May. Its construction has currently been almost completed, and a U.S. contractor is conducting the commissioning work," the plant's director, Leonid Shyman, told Interfax-Ukraine.
