KIEV, March 19 – The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to create several working groups to support mining and metal companies in Ukraine, including an interagency group for agreeing on the interests of state-run coalmines and metal holdings in purchasing coking coal extracted in Ukraine and the non-introduction of quotas on imports of coking coal.
Anatoliy Starovoit, the director general of Dnipropetrovsk-based Ukrkoks association of coking and chemical enterprises, said that decisions on the creation of working groups were made at a meeting headed by vice premiers Yuriy Boyko and Oleksandr Vilkul on Monday.
He said that around 50 representatives of holdings, companies, and enterprises, and the heads of some ministries and agencies, and sector organizations and associations were present at the meeting.
