ODESSA, March 11 – Odessa-based Rostdorbud has started the construction of one of the key sections of the new sewage system of the southern sewage basin near station 10 of the Velyky Fontan district in Odessa, the Odessa City Council told Interfax-Ukraine.

The department said that the construction of the deep sewerage pump station (SPS-7A) was started.

"The most important task is to bring order to the sewage system of the southern part of the city. It's good that the city has started the realization of the project on time. We can forget about breakdowns in the sewage system that discharge untreated sewage to the sea and contaminate the coastal zone," Odessa Mayor Oleksiy Kostusev said.
