KIEV, March 1 – The Cabinet of Ministers has proposed, starting in 2014, to gradually reduce the permissible level of phosphates in synthetic cleaning products made, imported or sold in Ukraine, with the limit on the content of phosphates at 0.7% by 2021.
The relative bill "On peculiarities of state regulation of synthetic cleaning products and household chemical goods" was posted for discussion on the Website of Economic Development and Trade Ministry.
The bill proposes to ban the production and sale in Ukraine of synthetic cleaning products and household chemicals that contain a mass phosphate share over 17% from January 1, 2014; 10% - from January 1, 2016; 5% - from January 1, 2019; and 0.7% - from January 1, 2021.
