KIEV, March 1 – The European Union is ready to establish a tripartite consortium with Ukraine and Russia to manage the Ukrainian gas transportation system, subject to certain guarantees, said Jan Tombinski, head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

"The EU will be ready to this, but we need transparency and certain guarantees," Tombinski said on the TVi Channel.

In this context, he noted the importance of there being a proper business environment and investment climate in Ukraine, as well as a crackdown on corruption.
