KIEV, March 1 – Kiev City Council has approved new borders of the city, including forests at the village of Kotsiubynske in its territory.
Seventy-four deputies voted for this decision.
Director of the land resources department of Kiev City State Administration Viktor Petruk reported that the last time Kiev's borders were approved was in 1953, when its area was 83,558 hectares.
The new land use planning draft foresees the inclusion in Kiev's territory, in addition to the forest near Kotsiubynske, a territory with a square of 998 hectares located to the south of the Osokorky residential area on the border with Boryspilsky region. According to Petruk, this is a single reserve for the building of social housing for Kiev citizens.
