ABU DHABI/KIEV, Feb. 18 – Ukraine and Pakistan have expanded their cooperation on the development of Pakistan's Al-Khalid main battle tank (MBT).

State-run Ukrspecexport told an Interfax-Ukraine reporter that the sides signed a contract worth over $50 million on supplies of 110 Ukrainian power systems with 6TD-2 engines with a capacity of 1,200 hp for Al-Khalid MBTs during the IDEX 2013 international exhibition of defense weapons, technologies and systems in Abu Dhabi (the United Arab Emirates).

Kharkiv-based state-run Malyshev Plant will execute the contract for four years.
