KIEV, Feb. 8 - Unconventional gas production, like other industrial activities, contains environmental risks, but Ukraine will be able to minimize them, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.
"Of course, frankly speaking, there are certain problems and environmental threats, as in almost every form of industrial production... But the task of technologists and industrialists is to make these risks minimal. If companies can succeed in achieving this in the United States and Canada, we have no doubt we will be able to provide the same level of environmental protection as in those countries," Azarov wrote on his page on Facebook.
He added that environmental security is an important component of a production sharing agreement with Shell and Nadra Yuzovska on Yuzovske deposit.
