KIEV, Oct. 20 ??“ Parliament defeated the government??™s 2006 budget draft by a significant margin on Thursday in the latest indication that President Viktor Yushchenko faces challenges in the legislature while pushing through reforms.

The draft anticipated a state budget revenue at 118.7 bln hryvnias, or $23.5 bln, while spending at 127.4 bln hryvnias, or $25.2 bln, according to the Finance Ministry.
