IVANO-FRANKIVSK, Jan. 24 – UAH 280 million is needed for the complete removal and disposal of hexachlorobenzene from a toxic waste landfill in Kalush (Ivano-Frankivsk region), of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration First Deputy Chairman Vasyl Plaviuk said.
"We have submitted a request from the regional state administration to the State Environmental Fund for UAH 280 million. This is the amount needed for the complete removal of hexachlorobenzene," he said at a press briefing on Thursday.
He also noted that according to the findings of scientists, there still remains about 8,000 tons of hexachlorobenzene at the landfill in Kalush.
