KIEV, Jan. 21 – The Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry has said that requirements on the moisture content of poultry should be introduced.

"Ukrainian-reared poultry will become more competitive on the foreign market if Ukraine introduces the single requirement on the moisture content [of poultry]. The regulation of moisture content will help protect Ukrainian consumers from poultry with increased levels of moisture," the ministry said.

The ministry says that at present, the EU countries have clear requirements for poultry. The moisture released by poultry during defrosting is to no more than 5.1% of its weight.
