KIEV, Jan. 14 – The share of renewable energy sources in Ukraine's energy balance will exceed 20% by 2040, according to most Ukrainian experts interviewed by KPMG's audit team as part of preparing a survey of the country's energy market.
According to the document, this opinion is shared by 68% of respondents, and 28% believe that it will happen after 2040.
Most experts believe that biomass and waste energy, given the country's existing resource base, is the most attractive area of alternative energy for investment. Solar power is in second place, wind power is third, and small-scale hydropower is fourth.
