KIEV, Dec. 27 – Boryspil and Chernihiv automobile plants, large Ukrainian vehicle manufacturers in Ukraine, which are part of the Etalon Corporation, will be idle in January and February 2013 due to the absence of funds to buy spare parts due to the state debt of UAH 27 million for buses supplied under the School Bus program.
"The automobile plants will operate until December 30, 2012, producing products and sending them to the warehouse, and in January and February 2013 they will be idle, as spare parts have not been bought. The state owes UAH 27 million for school buses supplied – this is the sum required for purchase of chassis and spare parts for the first quarter," Etalon Corporation President Volodymyr Butko said at a press conference on Thursday.
He said that the corporation sent addresses to the Education Ministry and Finance Ministry, although the two ministries send to each other.
