India interested in liberalizing visa regime, says Indian PM
Journal Staff Report

NEW DELHI, Dec. 10 – India is interested in liberalizing its visa regime with Ukraine, Indian Prime Minister of Manmohan Singh said.

"I passed to President Yanukovych some interesting ideas regarding simplified visa travel that could contribute to contacts between businessmen, students, and the peoples of both of our countries," he told journalists after a meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on New Delhi on Monday.

The premier also said India and Ukraine could exchange experience in nuclear safety and the prevention of nuclear disasters.

In particular, he noted that Ukraine gained significant experience in carrying out cleanup operations after the accident at Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
