KIEV, Nov. 20 – The Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has drawn up a draft procedure for exports of commodity natural gas and has posted it on its official Web site.
According to the document, Naftogaz Ukrayiny and its subsidiaries will annually submit their proposals on the volumes of gas exports from the country to the government.
In the future, after obtaining an export license, Naftogaz Ukrayiny and its subsidiaries will be able to supply gas abroad within quotas approved by the government.
In January 2011, Naftogaz Ukrayiny terminated exports of Ukrainian gas to Poland, referring to the adoption of the law on the principles of functioning of the natural gas market, which banned such operations.
