KIEV, Nov. 2 – UAH 2.247 billion will be allocated for the development of tourism in Kiev by 2015, including UAH 23.478 million from the city budget.
This is stipulated in the city's targeted program for tourism development until 2015, which was approved at a meeting of Kiev City Council.
"The program foresees a number of measures connected to tourism development in Kiev, in particular, participation in the most important international exhibitions, the organization of promo and press tours, and the holding of annual events. For example, this New Year we want to organize a Christmas fair as all European capitals do, and hold an exhibition of the ice figures at Spivoche Pole (Singing Field). We're planning to significantly increase the number of tourists," first deputy head of Kiev City State Administration Oleksandr Mazurchak said.
