BRUSSELS, Oct. 25 – Former European Commission President Romano Prodi says that the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union should be signed if Ukraine holds fair and free parliamentary elections.

"We are here not to assess the election results, we have to decide whether they were free and fair. I hope and I'm sure that the elections will be free and fair. The Council [of the EU] should take this into account and be a friend of Ukraine," he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
