KIEV, Oct. 24 – Ukrainian farmers and traders agreed at a meeting of the Agriculture and Food Ministry last week that wheat would not be exported after November 15, Ukrainian Grain Association Chairman Volodomyr Klymenko said.
Klymenko said this will free up port capacity for other crops.
The parties had signed a memorandum that set down possible grain export volumes. "The terms of the memorandum, are being honored in full. Now we have transparent and comprehensible rules of play, which are entirely to our liking," the chairman said.
As he reported, experts had estimated that Ukraine's wheat export potential of about 5 million tons would be used up by November 15.
