Wheat exports could be exhausted next month, says government
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, Oct. 22 – Ukraine's wheat export potential, at around 5-5.3 million tons for the current agricultural year (July 2012 – June 2013) could be exhausted by November 15, according to the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry.

"Each month exports are around 1.3 million tons of wheat, which is almost two times more year-over-year. Thus, as of November 15-20, 2012, Ukraine's wheat export potential could be exhausted [around 5-5.3 million tons]," reads a report of the ministry issued on October 19, 2012.

The ministry's press service reported that on October 19, 2012, First Deputy Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Ivan Bisiuk met grain traders and announced the said information. He drew the attention of exporters to the fact that as of October 19, 2012, contracts to export 5.4 million tons of wheat had been signed.
