MOSCOW, Oct. 15 - The construction of the Odessa-Brody-Plotsk-Gdansk oil pipeline might call into question the possibility of resuming the Burgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline, Deputy Vice President of Russian pipeline monopoly OJSC Transneft Igor Katsal said in an interview with the corporate magazine 'Oil Pipeline Transport.'
"Now, with the launch of the second Baltic Pipeline System (BPS-2), we are not in danger. The use of the Odessa-Brody-Plotsk-Gdansk pipeline will simply replace the outgoing amounts of Russian oil - no more. Another matter is that it calls into question the prospects for possibly 'thawing' the Burgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline," Katsal said.
