KIEV, Oct. 1 – The surplus of Ukraine's balance of payments in August 2012 came to $615 million, which is 24% down on the previous month, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.

According to the report, the deficit of the current account in August grew by 17% on July 2012, to $1.531 billion, while the surplus of the account of transactions with capital and financial transactions rose only by 1%, to $2.146 billion.
