KIEV, Oct. 1 – Imports to Ukraine of medicine of doubtful quality and effectiveness will be banned starting January 1, 2013, said Oleksiy Solovyov, head of the State Service for Medicine.
"From January 1, 2013, under a cabinet resolution, imports of medicine that do not have proof of their effectiveness will be banned. It’s no secret that from 2005 to 2007, medicine, the effectiveness of which was questionable, appeared on the market. The government with its decision introduced a ban on imports of such medicine from January 1, 2013," Solovyov at a roundtable with the participation of representatives of the government and players of the pharmaceutical market on September 28, 2012.
"The market will not suffer from this, as according to our estimates, these medicines of doubtful quality will be completely replaced by medicine made in Ukraine," headed.
