KIEV, Sept. 27 - Ukraine plans to introduce duties on imports of gasoline and diesel fuel starting December 1 in a bid to restart domestic oil refineries, Energy and Fuel Minister Yuriy Boyko said in a report.
“Today the government has decided to introduce the duties on December 1,” Boyko said in the report by the Lisichansk city government on Thursday.
The move is supposed to help Lisichansk Oil Refinery, the second largest oil refinery by capacity in Ukraine, to go back in operation after its shutdown in March.
“This will allow us to make sure our oil refineries are busy, first of all Lisichansk,” Boyko said. “I think the oil refinery will begin operation between November 15 and December 15.
