KIEV, Sept. 17 – The Ukrpyvo organization is alarmed at the threat of a ban on the use of plastic (PET) bottles for alcohol bottling, including beer, as foreseen in draft technical regulations of the Customs Union on the safety of alcohol.

"We're very alarmed at the draft technical regulations for alcohol that are to be approved on Monday by the Russian president… which foresee a full ban on selling beer in PET bottles," Ukrpyvo Director General Halyna Korenkova said at a press conference in Kiev on September 15, 2012.
