BRUSSELS, Sept. 14 – There should be no room for a pause in EU-Ukraine relations and no room for compromise on European values, according to European politicians.
This statement was made by Foreign Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament Elmar Brok and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule after their meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in Yalta on Friday.
"When we met President Yanukovych one year ago, we were focusing on the EU-Ukraine relations and the obstacles that stood in the way of taking full advantage of the great potential of our relationship. At the meeting today we stressed the following: There should be no room for a pause in EU-Ukraine relations, and no room for compromise on values," the statement reads.
