KIEV, Sept. 3 – Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at a government meeting pushed through a draft decision submitted by head of the State Reserve Agency Oleksiy Leliuk regarding the purchase for the State Reserve Agency of medical goods worth UAH 280 million at the request of the Emergency Situations Ministry, Mirror Weekly Ukraine reported.
The resolution was adopted without any discussion, without the consent of the concerned ministries, and, moreover, the Health Ministry previously notified Azarov that all products that were to be purchased were already in the State Reserve Agency in full and that they have never been in demand, the newspaper wrote on Saturday, citing a source in the Cabinet of Ministers. Emergency Situations Minister Viktor Baloha, while commenting on the situation, said he was surprised that the prime minister had such a letter, signed by him.
