KIEV, Aug. 21 – Vasyl Danyliv, a businessman and colleague of former Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn, has been detained on suspicion of plotting to assassinate Serhiy Diadechko, the former vice-president of Rodovid Bank, Channel 5 has reported.

According to the channel, Danyliv's mother cannot contact him and pass medicines to him.

In addition, journalist Oleksandr Arhat wrote in his blog on the website of the Ukrainska Pravda online newspaper: "On July 18, 2012, the Interior Ministry reported the detention of a group of killers and the organizer of an assassination attempt on Diadechko. The 43-year-old D. was named the organizer of the assassination attempt. There has been no information in this regard since then."
