KIEV, Aug. 3 – The Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry has proposed to create an Environmental Insurance Pool to reinforce the protection of the interests of the state, economic entities and citizens in the case of damage being done to the environment, and to place stricter responsibility on insurance market entities for insured people.

According to the analytical note to the bill "On amendments into some Ukrainian laws on the regulation of relations in the environmental insurance sector," which has been posted on the ministry's Web site, the creation of such pool will strengthen the joint responsibility of Ukrainian insurers who have licenses to provide insurance coverage connected with the pollution of the environment.
