KIEV, July 27 – There are no prerequisites for growth in public demand for foreign currency, but in autumn turbulence on the foreign currency market usually grows, said Olena Scherbakova, the director general of the monetary and credit policy department at the National Bank of Ukraine.
"The behavior of the population is a very influential factor. The population will create demand for currency if it feels insecure with the country's economic policy. Something has to provoke this. At present there are no factors that could provoke people," she said at a teleconference on Thursday.
