KIEV, July 18 – The Ukrainian government hopes that projects to transfer Ukrainian thermal power plants from natural gas to coal under an agreement with China could be launched as early as in 2013.

"We hope that as early as next year we'll launch such projects," Deputy Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Makukha said before a government meeting on Wednesday.

He said the point at issue is Severodonetsk heat power plant.
