KIEV, July 11 – Ukraine and China are preparing to update a contract worth $20 million signed in 2011 for the supply of Ukrainian power units with 6TD-2E9 engines (1200 hp) for China's MBT-2000 battle tank.

"There will be a new contract by the end of the year," a source familiar with the fulfillment of Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation on the MBT-2000 project has told Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the source, the new contract may involve at least 200 power units.
