KIEV, June 19 – Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has called for development of the Ukrainian version of Euronews.
"We want to see the development of relations with Euronews, and would like information about Ukraine to be objective first of all. We want Europe to know more about Ukraine," he said at the meeting with Euronews Director General Michael Peters, the Web site of the Cabinet of Ministers has reported.
According to Azarov, the holding of the European football championship in Ukraine allowed Ukraine to gain wider coverage in the West, smooth over the widespread earlier unauthentic information about racism in the country, criminality, and high prices, which frightened off tourists.
